India’s first Fenton Reactor Recycling Water Treatment Plant is located at vatva GIDC (Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation) in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.The station was inaugurated by Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Roupani.
1.Its capacity is 30 MLD (million liters per day) and it has been set up by Green Environmental Services Co-operative Society Limited (GESCSL) at a cost of Rs. 70 crore.
*The plant is said to cater to the needs of at least 700 industrial units.
*With this, it has been stated that the Wajwa GITC premises will become 100% compliant with the emission regulations of the Gujarat Pollution Control Board.
2.Currently, there are 35 Public Sewage Treatment Plants (CETPs) in Gujarat with a capacity to treat 750 million liters of industrial effluent per day. The government plans to set up 19 more CETPs in the future.
3.Gujarat has introduced an emissions trading program in Surat in 2019 to reduce air pollution, resulting in a 20% reduction in harmful emissions participation.
