Across the country, 20,799 people have been diagnosed with corona infection in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of corona infections to 3,38,34,702.
The highest death toll was 12,297 in Kerala, 2,692 in Maharashtra, and 1,531 in Tamil Nadu yesterday. Thus the total number of deaths due to corona infection across the country is 4,48,997.
According to the Federal Ministry of Health, the total number of people who have recovered from corona infection so far is 3,31,21,247. In the last 24 hours, 26,718 people have been discharged from corona infection.
In India, 2,64,458 people suffering from corona infection are being treated in hospitals. Across the country, 23,46,176 vaccines were given to people yesterday. The number of vaccines so far has crossed 90 crores and 79 lakh.
Although the second wave of the corona is gradually declining, medical experts say there is a risk of a third wave if people do not follow the rules of corona prevention properly.
