History is a chain of events representing evolution of humankind. The discipline now had many specific areas of research and study like Anthropology, Archaeology etc. but every human being must have some elementary knowledge about the evolution of his species.
Archaeological artefacts hold much importance in giving refined details about our past. Burial grounds, old potteries, excavated grounds etc. always have a fascinating story to tell.
The sources of history are wide and unfathomable like the universe. It needs a good insight to know where to look and not.
Source of Ancient Indian History
The general classification of history is done as; Pre-History i.e No written documents. We were able to collect material evidence, but they leave us only to assumptions. Then there is Proto-History, which is having written documents which is yet to be deciphered.
The best example is Harappan Civilization. We have their script in hand, but it is yet to be deciphered. Lets start the history by keeping in mind this quote,” “To give an accurate description of what has never occurred is not merely the proper occupation of the historian, but the inalienable privilege of any man of parts and culture”.
