DOGE-1 Satellite to the Moon in 2022 – SpaceX

SpaceX is set to launch the DOGE-1 satellite to the moon in 2022.It accepts the full charge for cryptocurrency ‘Dogecoin’ work.This is the first trading lunar payload in history to be paid in full with cryptocurrency.

*The DOGE-1 satellite was developed by the Geometric Energy Corporation (GEC), a Canadian-based intellectual property, manufacturing and logistics company.

*It will be launched on the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket.

Features:

1.It receives ‘lunar-spatial intelligence’ from sensors and cameras on board with a 40kg heavy satellite and integrated communication and computing systems.

2.This work will demonstrate the use of cryptocurrency beyond Earth’s orbit and lay the foundation for interplanetary trade.

3.DogeCoin is a cryptocurrency invented by software engineers Billy Marcus and Jackson Palmer. It was launched in 2013.

4.It is the 4th largest digital currency in the world (1st – Bitcoin).

SpaceX introduced four astronauts (3 Americans, 1 Japanese) to the International Space Station on November 15, 2020 by a private company in a full-fledged taxi flight to NASA.
