Google Partners with SpaceX – StarLink‌ Internet service

SpaceX’s Starlink satellites have teamed up with SpaceX to provide high-speed Internet access in conjunction with Google Cloud.

  • It has been reported that SpaceX will install Starlink terminals on Google data centers around the world.
  • SpaceX’s Starlink terminals enable high-speed broadband Internet access through Google Cloud.
  • The service is expected to be available to enterprise customers by the end of 2021.
  • It is noteworthy that on April 23, 2021, SpaceX sent 4 astronauts to the International Space Station (ISS) on a NASA business team mission “Crew-2 Mission” from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, USA with its Falcon 9 rocket.

Important Points:

1.Starling-Google partnership data also includes the delivery of cloud services and applications to remote parts of the world.

*SpaceX will install the 1st Starling terminal on Google’s new Albany in Ohio, USA.

*Microsoft won a deal in 2020 from SpaceX to merge its Azure cloud computing platform with Starling.

2.Through this partnership, it is a step towards increasing Google’s share of the global cloud-computing market dominated by Amazon & Microsoft.

Elon Musk’s SpaceX StarLink:

*This is an attempt by SpaceX to provide satellite Internet access.

*This eliminates the need for cell phone towers, which allow customers’ devices to communicate with satellites and connect to Google data centers.
