The International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) has introduced a mobile processor (app) called ‘ID-Art’. It helps identify stolen cultural assets, reduce smuggling, and increase the chance of recovering stolen works and artifacts.
Search Database:
Users (law enforcement agencies) can immediately check if there is an item in the thousands of items registered as stolen in Interpol’s ‘Stolen Artworks’ database.
*Report endangered cultural sites (by recording geographic location).
*During the pilot phase, the application was successfully used in Italy and the Netherlands.
