The technology innovation center on cybersecurity at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT-K) in Kanpur, C3 iHub, is the first archive to host 13 start-ups and 25 R&D (research and development) primary investigator research projects. And products for cybersecurity domains.
*The announcement was made during an event attended by Professor Ashutosh Sharma, Secretary, Department of Science and Technology, Ministry of Science and Technology.
*Important cybersecurity domains include UAV (unmanned aerial vehicles) or drone security, blockchain, infiltration detection, and Internet body system.
The reason behind this cohort:
The sophisticated technology in cybersecurity requires the protection of digital assets, the public, the government, and the industry. Significantly, in June 2021, an IAF (Indian Air Force) base in Jammu (Jammu & Kashmir) was attacked using drones.
*Make-in-India India needs cybersecurity solutions to counter these types of attacks, which will be developed by this alliance.
*Many of these initiatives will also work on anti-drone technology to protect Indian border areas from neighbors.
Featured Points:
*The cohort was selected through a rigorous application process.
*C3iHub will support them for innovations in the cybersecurity space.
*C3iHub aims to develop technologies for cybersecurity, work with industry and nucleate start-ups and train the next generation of cybersecurity professionals
