India’s 1st 3D Printed House at IIT-M

Nirmala Sitharaman (Union Finance Minister) virtually inaugurated at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT-M), Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

3D printing is commonly referred to as combination production.It is capable of creating three-dimensional shapes of objects with computer control sequence layers.

Currently 3D technology is used in a wide range of industries from automobile to jewelry and healthcare. The global market for 3D printing is expected to reach $ 34.8 billion by 2024.

*The one-storey house was built in five days on an area of ​​about 600 square feet using ‘concrete 3D printing’.

*The 3D Printed House will help meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s deadline of 2022 for the ‘Housing for All’ project.

*A start-up founded by IIT-M alumni in association with Habitat for Humanity’s Terwilliger Centre for Innovation in Shelter built the 3D Printed House for TVASTA Manufacturing solutions.

*TVASTA Manufacturing was set up as part of the, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs’s ASHA Incubator.
