India’s First National Park with Satellite Phones Facility.

Kaziranga National Park in Assam has become India’s first national park with satellite phones. This is an attempt to encourage measures to prevent poaching in the park. Assam Chief Secretary Jishnu Barua handed over 10 satellite phones to forest personnel in the national park.

*At a meeting chaired by Dr. Himanta Biswa Sharma, Chief Minister (CM) of Assam, it was decided to provide satellite phones to the park’s forest staff.
*Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) has purchased 10 satellite phones worth Rs 16 lakh.
*Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) will be the service provider.
