The Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD) has launched the web-based portal ‘pmcaresforchildren’ to identify children eligible for support under the ‘BM Cares for Children’ program.
*The portal will assist in submitting and processing applications for benefits.
*The PM Cares for Children program was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in support of orphans who have lost both parents / legal guardians / foster parents due to COVID-19.
*The scheme will enable them to implement their well-being through health insurance and empower them through education. 10 lakhs, when he reaches 23 years of age.
