NASA Plans Two New Missions to Venus – DAVINCI+ & VERITAS..

NASA is planning to launch two new travelers, DAVINCI+ and Veritas to Venus,Earth’s nearest also known as sister planet.NASA is said to spend $ 500 million on each mission. Both projects are expected to launch between 2028-2030.

Aims to study the atmospheric and geographical features of Venus, also known as Earth’s sister planet. The closest planet to Earth and the second planet from the Sun, Venus is similar in structure, but slightly smaller and much warmer than Earth.

DAVINCI+ (Deep Atmosphere Venus Investigation of Noble Gases,Chemistry, and Imaging)

*How did Venus appear through this project? Was there an ocean? The geological history of the planet will be studied in the Da Vinci Project.
*It will examine the measurements of noble gases and other elements to understand why Venus’ atmosphere is a runaway hothouse compared to Earth.
*The mission involved a flying spacecraft expected to return the first high-resolution images of the unique geographical features of Venus called tesserae.
*DAVINCI+ will provide the first compact ultraviolet visible imaging spectrometer (CUVIS) built by Goddard.

VERITAS (Venus Emissivity, Radio Science, InSAR, Topography, and Spectroscopy)

*The Veritas project is said to explore the geographical development of Venus and the differences between Earth and Venus.
*The purpose of this work is to create 3D reconstructions of the landscape and to ensure that processes such as plate tectonics and volcanism are still active on Venus, listing the surface elevations of almost the entire planet.
*Veritas will deliver the Deep Space Atomic Clock-2, built by JPL and funded by NASA’s Space Technology Mission Directorate.
