The Income Tax Department has launched its new e-filing portal www.incometax.gov.in .The portal aims to provide a convenient, modern and seamless experience to the taxpayers through this portal.
*The mobile app is also set to launch soon.
*This portal is an initiative of the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) for easy compliance with taxpayers and other stakeholders.
The new tax system will be launched on June 18, 2021, according to the Income Tax Department.
Features of the New Portal:
*This portal is integrated with the immediate processing of Income Tax Income (ITRs) for the quick refund to taxpayers.
*All interactions, uploads or pending actions will be displayed on a single dashboard for taxpayer follow-up activities.
*ITR product software is available free of charge with mobile queries for ITRs 1, 4 (online and offline) and ITR 2 (offline).
*Taxpayers can update their profile and provide income details such as salary, property, business/occupation which will be used to fill out ITRs.
*A new call center for taxpayer assistance will be activated to answer taxpayer questions immediately.
*It also includes activities such as filing income tax forms, recruiting tax experts, and submitting responses to notices of face-to-face inspection or appeals.
