New Global Partnership – ‘Blue Nature Alliance’

A New Global Partnership called ‘Blue Nature Alliance’.It has been launched jointly by several Philanthropic Organizations across the world.It’s to protect 18 Million Square kilometres of the ocean (5% of the World’s Ocean) over the next 5 years.

The Alliance is founded and led by 5 partners such as..

1.Conservation International
2.The Pew Charitable Trusts
3.The Global Environment Facility
4.Minderoo Foundation
5.The Rob and Melani Walton Foundation.

*Alliance will start conservation works by targeting 7 ocean locations around Antarctica, Fiji, Canada, Seychelles, Palau, the Western Indian Ocean and Tristan da Cunha, an island in the South Atlantic Ocean.

*2.5 Square miles will cover these areas.

*Alliance will work with national governments, local communities, Indigenous peoples, scientists and academics for the conservation work.

*It aims to achieve a global target of conserving at least 30% of the ocean by 2030.
