The NITI Ayog and Piramal Foundation launched ‘Surakshit Hum Surakshit Tum Abhiyan’ in 112 districts to assist district administrations in providing home care support to COVID-19 patients with mild or no symptoms.
*Its main objective is to provide long-term support to the poorest communities in India in the Aspirational Districts by addressing the lasting impact of COVID-19.
*The initiative is part of the ‘Aspirational Districts Collaborative’ in which local leaders, civil society and volunteers work with district administrations to address emerging issues in areas where the Aspirational Districts Project is the main focus.
*Most of the aspirational districts (backward districts) are in Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Odisha and Maharashtra.
Implementation:
1.District judges, along with more than 1,000 local NGOs (NGOs) and volunteers, will lead the effort.
