PM Kisan is a central sector scheme. This scheme came into operation from 1st December 2018 and it is purely funded by the Government of India.
PM Kisan scheme is mainly for small and marginal farmer families holding combined land or ownership up to 2 hectares later on 1st June 2019 it was revised and announced that all farmer families irrespective of their size of landholdings is eligible for the scheme. Those families provided with an income of Rs.6000 per year in three equal installments.
UT administrations and the State Government is responsible for identifying eligible farmer families as per scheme guidelines. The fund will be directly transferred to the beneficiary’s bank accounts.
SCHEME ELIGIBLE CRITERIA
Ø All farmer families holding cultivable land in their name are eligible
NOT ELIGIBLE CRITERIA
1. All Institutional Landholders
2. Farmers’ family in which one or more falls under any criteria
Ø Farmer and present holders of the constitutional post
Ø Former and present ministers/ State Ministers and former/present Member of Lok Sabha/ Rajya Sabha/ state Legislative Assemblies/ State Legislative councils, former and present mayors of Municipal corporations, former and present Chairpersons of District Panchayats.
Ø All serving or retired officers and employees of Central/ State Government ministers /Offices/Departments and its field units Central or State PSEs and Attached offices /Autonomous institutions under Government as well as regular employees of the Local Bodies (Excluding Multi-Tasking staff / Class lV/Group D employees)
iv. All superannuated/retired pensioners Rs.10,000/-or more(Excluding Multi-Tasking employees)
Ø All Persons who paid income tax in the last assessment year
Ø Professionals like Doctors, Engineers’ Lawyers, Chartered Accountants, and Architects registered with Professional bodies and carrying out profession by undertaking practices.
