SpaceX Launches Ants, Avocados, Robot to Space Station

SpaceX’s Dragon spacecraft takes recycled Falcon 9 rocket from NASA ‘s (National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s) Kennedy Space Center to the International Space Station (ISS) on the island of Merritt, carrying ants, avocados, and a humanoid robot.

*After launch, the rocket’s first-level booster returned and landed vertically on SpaceX’s new marine platform, dubbed the ‘A Shortfall of Gravitas’.
*This is SpaceX’s 23rd delivery toward ISS in 10 years and the 3rd launch for this particular booster.

Featured Points:

  1. The dragon carried supplies and experiments for, 4,800 pounds (2,170 kilograms) and fresh food, including avocados, lemon, and ice cream for the astronauts’ seven astronauts.
    2. Female scouts sent ants, shrimp, and plants for experiments, while scientists at the University of Wisconsin-Madison sent seeds from a small flowering weed mouse-ear cress used in genetic research. There are models of concrete, solar cells, and other materials for research.
    3. There is also a robotic arm that is sent to the ISS. It is manufactured by a Japanese start-up company to do work around the station.
