Golden Temple
The Sri Lakshmi Narayani Golden Temple in Sripuram in Tamil Nadu, is the largest Golden Temple in India. This Temple is situated in Sripuram in Vellore District of Tamil Nadu. This Temple is on the foot hills of a place called Malaikodi in the Vellore.
History
The Sri Lakshmi Golden Temple was initiated on 24th August 2007. This Temple took seven years for the construction. A 31-year old holy person who names himself as the Narayani Amma heads this Temple.
The Sripuram Golden Temple is situated on land of about 100 acres. It was built by the Sri Narayani Peedam in Vellore. This Peedam is under the control of the spiritual leader Amma Narayani also known as the Sri Sakthi Amma.
Architecture
This Temple has a gold cover which has sculptures and interior carvings made with the purest gold. It took about 1500kg of gold to construct this Temple. Then the important feature of this Temple is the Mahalakshmi Temple or the Lakshmi Narayani Temple, which has the Ardha Mandapam and Vimanam with the pure gold coatings. Both the interior and the exterior of the Temple have used the gold plating. An estimation of Rs.600 was spent to build the original Golden Temple for the Goddess Lakshmi.
The design of Temple contains the star shape (that is Sri Chakra), which is on the green colored landscape of about 1.8Km long. The path through the Temple has the spiritual messages until the sanctum. When the devotees walk along the way to the Temple, they can read all the spiritual messages. These messages tell about the human birth, meaning of life and significance of spirituality.

This Golden Temple attracts the devotees with the purest gold and they believe this as one of the wonders. At night times, the lighting arrangements make the temple to glow. This Temple aims to bring the transformation and the correctness in the human beings. Then the darshan or visit is available for all the 365 days.

Rules in the Temples
- The devotees must wear proper and neat dresses.
- The visitors must avoid wearing short pants, trending jeans, Lungies, half pants, Nightees, Bermudas and Midi. So it’s much better to wear the traditional dresses.
- Then the disgust habits like the eating of tobacco, chewing of gums and consuming the liquors are strictly restricted inside the Temple premises.
- Next the usage of mobile phones, cameras, igniting items and the other electronic devices are banned inside the Temple.
- The administration of the Temple, kindly requests the devotees to follow the rules of the Temple.
Celebrations
The Kumbabhisekham or the consecration of the Temple is the main celebration in this Temple. All other poojas are made, during the auspicious days in this Temple. This temple is open for darshan from 8A.M in the morning to 8P.M in the evening. To know more other famous temple Brihadisvara temple.
Transport facilities
You can reach this temple easily through the road transport. A number of buses are available from the Chennai, Tirupati and Bangalore. If you travel through the car or taxi, then drive in the road to Usoor to reach this site. Then the Sripuram Temple is at a distance of 6Km from the Vellore. For the train passengers, the nearest railway station is Katpadi Station to reach this Temple. The trains like the Lalbagh express, Brindavan express and the Tirupati passenger trains stop at the Katpadi station. This Railway station is on the way to the Bangalore to Chennai route.
The nearest Airports to this Temple are the Chennai, Tirupati and Bangalore Airport. From these places, you can opt a road transport to reach this site.
Entry fee
The free darshan(entry) is available for the devotees all the time. For the divya dharsan, the devotees must pay Rs.100 per head, which is available only on Saturdays and Sundays. The entry is allowed only from 8.00 A.M to 8.00 P.M.
