The World Health Organization (WHO) has formed a new advisory panel, the International Scientific Advisory Council on the Origin of Novel Pathogens, or SAGO, to study the origins of Covid-19.
*The advisory panel will develop a global framework to study the emergence of future pathogens with infectious potential.
*For SARS-CoV-2, SAGO will support carrying out the recommended studies outlined in the March 2021 report.
