The Valparai Hill station, is the famous tourist spot situated at a distance of 104Km from the Coimbatore main city in Tamil Nadu. This site is at a distance of 110Km from the Ernakulum of Kerala.
History
The Valparai Hill station is situated above 3500 feet from the sea level at the Anamalai mountain range. This place has a boundary along with the Parambikulam Tiger Reserve, Vazhachal forest section, Anaimalai Tiger reserve and the Eravikulam National Park. The place in and throughout the Valparai contains a large amount of fauna.
Climate
In this place, the climate is cool and delightful for the whole year. Then the Chinna Kallar is a famous place in Valparai which obtains a larger amount of rainfall in India. Here there are nearly 40 hairpin bends from the Pollachi plains to go to the Valparai. During winter, the temperature is around -15ºC to -1ºC and during the summer it is 25ºC to 15ºC.

These Valparai Hills are famous for bird watching , bicycling and the trekking. Every year, in the May month, a summer festival for three days is conducted to promote the tourism. During this festival, events like the food festivals, the children session, football and cricket matches take place. In this place, thousands of visitors assemble here to watch and enjoy the summer festival and the nature.

The Chitti Vinayagar Temple, Chinnakallar, Balaji Temple, Grass Hills, Karamalai Annai Vellankanni Church, Kadamparai Dam, Grass Hills, Nirar Dam, Nallamudi Poonjolai, Tiger Valley, Number Parai, Loam’s View point and Sholayar Dam are the best things to see in this area. Then the Athirapally falls, Monkey Falls and the Aliyar Dam are the other things to watch here.
