History

              Before others went to visit this area for the first time, the tribal group called TODA were living in this area for a  long time. This place is among the Hill stations in India, under the TamilNadu Tourism department. Then the establishment of the tea estates in this area, made this area more popular. This place is full of dense forests, greeny grasslands, lofty mountains and the tea estates, attracts the visitors coming to this place. The place can be visited, as a part of Wayanad tour.

              The best time to see this place is from March month to May month during summers. During the monsoons, you can visit this place from June month to September month. During winter, you can come to this place from October month to February month.

              In Ooty, the climate in the summer seems to be moderate, unlike the other places in South India.  The temperature in monsoon ranges between 15ºC to 25ºC and in summer, ranges between 20ºC to 30ºC.

Transport facilities

The Ooty is at a distance of  598Km from Chennai, 260Km from Bengaluru ( through the Mysore and Mudumalai) and 158Km from Mysore. There are good roads to connect to Ooty from these cities. Then you can take a road transport from these cities, to reach this place. The Mettupalayam station connects to Udhagamandalam railway station through the NMR metre gauge, which comes below the Salem division of Southern Railways. Then you can reach the Mettupalayam railway station if you come through the train. The nearest Airport is the Coimbatore Airport which is at a distance of 96Km. From there, you must take a road transport to reach this site.
